OAPA NGO successfully implemented the project: “Stand Up for Human Rights: From Knowledge to Advocacy”
The participants of Erasmus + funded project ‘Stand Up for Human Rights: From Knowledge to Advocacy’ debated this and other questions during the first and second training course of the project that took place from 14 – 22 May in Pristina, Kosovo and 10-17 July in Prizren, Kosovo.
Training course hosted by ‘Organization for the Advancement of Alternative Programs’ from Prizren gave the participants an opportunity to reflect on various human rights issues, to discuss challenges in human rights field but also to learn from good practices being implemented in their countries. Each training course connected 35 participants representing following countries Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Denmark, Germany, Croatia and Latvia.
During the training days the participants took part in various activities based on non-formal education. The participants were working in mix-intercultural teams while creating their ideal human rights countries, they were analyzing various situations in which human rights are not being respected, they were also working individually when reflecting on their strong sides and sides to be improved as future human rights educators.
The key result of the first training course were new project ideas that the participants will try to implement in their communities in upcoming period with main aim to raise awareness of wider public on the importance of human rights. The key result of the second training course was creating a campaigns and launching public raising awareness campaign by participants online.
The project through implementation of two mobility activities – two training courses aims in overall to develop competencies of the participants and their organizations to raise awareness on human rights, advocate for human rights and contribute to creating social inclusive society where human rights are being respected by various stakeholders. One of the key objectives of the project is to raise participant’s abilities to use online learning, digital tools and visualization in their work.
